Deserts are expanding rapidly.

The Problem

Desertification is the permanent degradation of land that was once arable.

It impacts over 20% of our planet's land and threatens food security worldwide.

Although land degradation has happened throughout history, the pace has accelerated. According to the United Nations, it is now occurring 30 to 35 times faster than the historical rate, mainly due to human activities such as farming.

You can take action to help the land thrive!

The hope is in regenerative farming

Humans are significantly contributing to the process of desertification on a large scale, which poses serious and far-reaching consequences for ecosystems and communities.

However, through the adoption of regenerative farming practices and by actively supporting local community initiatives, we have the opportunity to reverse this damaging trend.

By replenishing and rehabilitating these lands, we can work towards ensuring a sustainable future for all while protecting the environment and promoting ecological balance.

Our Mission

StopTheDesert is a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting desertification on a global scale.

We conduct thorough research to identify areas where local farmers can receive assistance in transitioning to regenerative farming. This approach not only helps restore the land but also protects it from future desertification. Our projects are funded by donors and carried out in collaboration with local and international experts in regenerative agriculture. Once completed, the projects are certified as regenerative farms by Eco-Cert.

We strongly believe in empowering local partners to spearhead these transformations, with support from extension officers who have access to international expertise. Each project is meticulously documented and shared with StopTheDesert to ensure transparency and accountability.
